A Trap is Set

A trap is set, a deadly lure…
the vixen has her cubs to feed;
and so she creeps, her mother's need
a force to push her to explore
the metal cage, go through the door.
Her fear she can't afford to heed,
a trap is set, a deadly lure
the vixen has her cubs to feed.

Inside the cage she turns once more
and sees the trap! She won't succeed
in feeding cubs that beg and plead.
She chews the lock with bleeding jaw…
